If you're an agent who prides yourself on really knowing the areas you send customers to, you'll love the Vancouver Specialist Program. Grab a coffee, set up your account, and within minutes you will be on your way to learning more about this great destination!
The Vancouver Specialist Program has been developed by Tourism Vancouver to provide travel trade sales and reservations staff with a way to learn about or expand their knowledge of Vancouver. This on-line training program is targeted at travel agents and sales representatives that are interested in increasing their sales to Vancouver. The program is designed so that you can go at your own pace. Start and stop as often as you need to complete each module. The program will remember where you last left off. To become a certified Vancouver Specialist, you need to complete all four modules and test your knowledge by completing the quiz questions at the bottom of select pages.
The more you know about Vancouver, the better service you can offer your clients. Increased itinerary planning skills and knowledge mean better customer satisfaction levels from your clients, and additionally, your ability to up-sell will increase the profitability of your business. As a frontline sales agent the reasons for completing the Vancouver Specialist program include:
*The above benefits are only available for frontline sales agents based outside of Metro Vancouver.
In order to create a little “buzz” during our program launch April 2011, Tourism Vancouver initially offered a special incentive for those agents who completed their certification within one month of signing up. In September 2011, a group of lucky newly certified travel trade sales representatives participated in a familiarization trip to Vancouver to experience the product and experiences covered in the VSP modules first-hand. A second familiarization trip is being planned in summer 2012 for those who qualified between August and December 2011.
Stay tuned for future announcements on potential fams or other Vancouver Specialist incentives!
